Jerri Dyer
Biographical Information

Jerri Dyer grew up in Berea, Kentucky, where she lived until leaving to attend Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.  After receiving a degree in Biology, Jerri went on to attend the University of Kentucky, receiving a Master’s degree in Education.  She then taught High School biology for two years, followed by five years of middle school science in Nicholasville, KY.  She also coached track and cross country for two years.

In 1999, Jerri went on a short term mission trip to Pachuca, Mexico with Southland Christian Church.  This sparked a growing interest and involvement in missions, particularly short term missions.  From 1999 through 2005, Jerri volunteered with the missions ministry at Southland; participating in short term trips to Mexico, Bolivia, and the Dominican Republic; training short term missions leaders; and serving on the Missions Leadership Team.  While spending the summer in Pachuca in 2001, Jerri felt a call to long term missions, and in 2005 began a short term placement working among urban poor in Pachuca.  God opened doors to begin working with college and post-college age youth, and began to lead Jerri in this direction in ministry, including time working with the youth at the Jubilee Church plant in Pachuca during the first half of 2007.

In April 2007, Jerri was accepted as a missionary recruit with IMPACTO Latino.  After returning to the US to work with supporting churches and raise additional support, she hopes to return to the field in early 2008 to work with Eric and Dee Duggins in the continued formation of the Jubilee Church, specifically being involved in the college and post-college youth ministries.  She will also teach in and be involved in the administration of the Friendship Institute, an English teaching outreach to the young professionals and University communities of Pachuca.

Jerri enjoys running, Starbucks coffee, American football, and seeing new places.  She is excited about joining the IMPACTO Latino team in Pachuca and continuing the work that God has allowed her to begin.
