1/31/2018 January / February 2018![]() 2018 has already been busy. Our whole team is working to finish up the preparations for the IMPACTOnetwork's first Assessment Center (AVANZA) of potential lead pastors that will be held February 9-11. Holly Alvarado has been leading the team in organizing and making sure all the arrangements are in place. Each team member has been working hard to finish up a whole range of projects including candidate interviews and testing; travel and housing arrangement, organization of evaluating groups, seminars and group activities. Participants in the Assessment Center are coming from Queretaro, Pachuca, Northern Mexico and several location in the United States. There will also be a family assessed from the church planting group, STADIA, who may begin a church in northern Mexico. Eric will be doing three seminars at the Assessment and a testimony time and Dee will be concentrating on hosting, a few meals and watching and teaching the grandkids during the week of the AVANZA. ![]() Church Plant - QUERETARO We have every confidence that at least one of the candidates will be chosen as the lead pastor for the first church planted under the IMPACTOnetwork. That first church will be planted in Queretaro, a major and fast growing urban center 3 hours north of Mexico City. This first church will be a “teaching church”. The IMPACTOnetwork is preparing a residency program with the vision of having two resident families that would prepare to plant churches in Mexico’s cities in the following years. We are excited that four congregations in the United States are part of the network partners for this first church. We are also excited that three churches from Mexico are also financially participating in this first church plant, two are from Pachuca and one in Queretaro. The Queretaro church will be launched on May 20, 2018 and will be the home church for most of the IMPACTOnetwork staff. If you would be able to help with the residency program costs consider a donation by clicking on the following link. ![]() Berenice Hernandez de Trejo Many who have visited with us during our ministry in Pachuca met a dear Christian lady that was part of the Pachuca Project for more than 20 years. Last week, Bere lost her battle with cancer and went home. Berenice had fought cancer two previous times and this last time out-lasted all estimates of the doctors and experts. More than her very brave flight against cancer, her faith was a bright light that shown to all she met. Berenice's son-in-law is now the Pastor of the Jubilee Christian Church and her son, Carlos, is one of the preaching elders at the congregation. We were blessed to have had her as a friend and fellow minister in the work in Pachuca. Family News:
-Many have asked about Andrew. After two months working as a Temp worker at FedEx, he has been hired full-time at a FedEx location on the South side of Indianapolis. He is concentrating on paying off some debt and continues to send out resumes to churches. Thanks for the prayers for him. -Dee continues to teach Abby, Emmy and Eric part of their home schooling days. She enjoys those times extensively! -Dee's mom is doing well. She is in memory care at a center on the south side of Indianapolis. Mom Rumler went through a few difficult months after a fall and having to do rehab and changing facilities from Anderson, Indiana to Indianapolis. We are very grateful for the good care she is receiving from family and the new facility. Coming Events: 6-11 February: AVANZA (Assessment Center at the IMPACTOnetwork Training Center) 5-10 March: DiscipleShift training group at the IMPACTOnetwork Center. 11-18 March: Toussaint Family in Queretaro. David Toussaint, Indiana Director of Compass (Financial Ministries) will be doing three Seminars (2 in Queretaro and one in Pachuca). 16-21 April: Field visit to NMSI missionaries in Santiago, Chile 21-27 April: NMSI Regional Directors' meetings in Fort Myers, FL. Prayer Request: -For Joel Trejo, husband of Berenice and for Adriana, Carlos and Berenice, her children. -AVANZA, that the Lord is clear in directing the IMPACTOnetwork to the candidate that will be our lead pastor in the church plant in Queretaro. -The first church, to launch this May, is fully funded. Be praying for Eric and the team as we contact churches and individuals about the church plant for 2019. A Need: We have been greatly blessed over these 30 plus year with faithful congregations and individuals that have made it possible for us to minister in Mexico and see several churches be planted. However, in the last few years we have seen changes in our support level. Three congregations have or will be closing their doors, one just informed us this month. We have been able to adjust and some congregations have increased support. However, with this last notification and also the expanding of our ministry into recruiting and fundraising, we are finding that travel expenses to present the IMPACTOLatino church planting projects to churches and to Christian Universities are putting pressures on our budgets. We are therefore asking that you give prayerful consideration at becoming a monthly supporter of our ministry as we work with the IMPACTO team to see the church planted in the great cities of Mexico. We are looking for 5 individuals or families that can give $100 monthly. And 10 individuals that can give $50 a month. Thanks for praying about your participation with us!
