The IMPACTOnetwork held its second AVANZA Church Planter Assessment event February 20-24. Holly Alvarado did a great job of coordinating and executing all the different components of the event. Three couples participated as candidates and seven observers were present. The observers presented their final recommendations to the candidates and to IMPACTOnetwork. Please be praying for the IMPACTOnetwork team and the candidates as we make decisions about church planting in the future.
Iglesia Cristiana La Viña has been seeing continued growth since the beginning of the year. The combination of the arrival of Pastor Gerardo, the move to a larger, more visible facility, and God’s favor has helped with growth. Each Sunday we are receiving 2-3 families visiting La Viña for the first time. There are some new families that have been consistent attenders. Please pray for Bitia and her team that does follow up with visitors. At the end of March, we will be holding a “Get to Know Us” seminar for people who have come from other churches so they can learn more about La Viña and decide if it’s the church for them.
The first Sunday of March, three people were baptized! Another person was baptized on Friday evening. Please pray for Chuchín, Pueblito, Mayan, and Roxana as they begin their new lives in Christ.
The IMPACTOnetwork Residency program is in its 8th month. Church Planting Resident Andrés García and his wife Bitia have been taking the courses along with 6 senior year students from Universidad Cristiana de Mexico. Pastor Gerardo and his wife Naty along with another local pastor have also been attending. Everyone has had lots of positive feedback and are expanding their view of the church, ministry, and church planting. Because of the success we’ve had, Joseph Klein, the Residency Coordinator is working with our multimedia team to get the Residency classes online. At the IMPACTOnetwork offices, a small recording studio is being built to help with recording the classes. We are thankful for our partnership with Good News Productions International which is helping with funding for this project.
Sergio Alvarado, Director of Church Planting is working with Andres García, our Church Planting Resident on plans for Querétaro church #2. The launch date is planned for October/November. Please be praying for them as they develop strategies and plans for the new church plant. Please pray for the necessary funds for this project. If you’re interested in partnering with Querétaro church #2, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
