8/15/2019 Extending Our Reach In Person and OnlineOne of the goals of the IMPACTOnetwork church planting project is to train new church planters. Last year was our first class of IMPACTOnetwork church planting residents. In order to reach more people interested in leadership and church planting, we have launched the our new más IMPACTO online program. This program allows people in other parts of Mexico and Latin America to watch the IMPACTOnetwork Church Planting residency teaching and interact in online forums. The classes are available live and then archived on the site. Our team has worked diligently to set up all the different parts that make this new program possible. Please pray that we will be able to connect with and train even more church planters through this new innovative medium. We continue to partner with UCM (Mexico Christian University) and at the beginning of August welcomed a group of 7 senior year students and 1 staff member who will be taking the Church Planting Residency program this year. Four of the students have been assigned to Iglesia Cristiana La Viña as their church of service during the school year. On Sunday, they were introduced to the congregation and were prayed over. Jean Carlos, Francisco (and wife Carolina), Monze and Eduardo will be serving at La Viña in different areas such as worship team, Life Groups, children's classes and multimedia. Please pray for these students as they start their final year at UCM. The church planting team for Church #2 continues to diligently work to reach the El Mirador neighborhood. They have chosen the name "El Ancla" (The Anchor Church) for the new church plant. Lead planter, Andrés García says "The name was chosen because Christ is our anchor to Heaven and we are looking to see the people of El Mirador anchored to Jesus. We present to them The Anchor so they will stop wandering without direction. Also, the anchor was the first symbol used by Christians (even before the fish) to locate their meeting places. Where there's an anchor, followers of Jesus meet!"
The Klein family has gotten settled in their new home in the El Mirador neighborhood and have been meeting their neighbors. Please pray for good connections and friendships that will lead to personal Bible studies and Life Groups in this unreached neighborhood. You can be a part of reaching the people of El Mirador! If you're interested in investing in this church planting project, please contact Eric Duggins (eduggins@newinternational.org) or Joseph Klein (jklein@newinternational.org). |
