We spent a few days in the city of Guanajuato as a team to debrief with our summer interns, Ben and Kaitlin Faust. Ben and Kaitlin were great servants this summer experiencing and learning about various ministries in our Mexican context. They spent time in language school in Querétaro, serving with Iglesia Cristiana El Jubileo in Pachuca during VBS, attending cell groups, and playing on worship team among other things. We are so thankful for their time and service in Mexico this summer. Please pray for them as they return to the States and their studies that God may use this time for His purpose in their lives.
"God called us to this ministry a little bit before graduating from the National Bible Institute (today Mexico Christian University) in 2012. We graduated on June 2 and on the 25th of the same month we held our first service in the “La Pradera” neighborhood with about 25 people. Since that day, God has been faithful in our lives, the first year we were meeting in a house with very little space. We faced many different trials such as only having 6 people in attendance, but thanks to God, we were loaned a larger space, which we have since started renting. We have adapted the space for our services (we cleaned, painted, added a roof and a bathroom). This is the place that we’re using today. In this place we’ve experienced great growth going from being 30 members to now around 120. This has led us to have 2 services as our place only has occupancy for 60 people. Currently we are in the process of receiving a gift of land from the city as there is a piece available. We are close to obtaining it and continue to pray that it will become reality. Now we have some ministries established such as children’s, youth, women’s, men’s, life group (cells). In general we are maturing and becoming rooted as a church... Last April 24th, we did maintenance projects changing the polycarbonate windows, painting the interior of the building and some improvements in the front part, this was thanks to the support of IMPACTOnetwork to whom we are thankful and pray that God will bless all those who gave to make this help possible.
