Jorge and Maria Esther Herrera had begun a cell group in their home that was having over 20 people weekly and the Lord placed a burden on their hearts to see it grow to something more. After more than a year of prayer and discussions with Jubileo's eldership, the first services were held in May 2016.
Every week, Jubileo videotapes its sermons and, with the help of Good News Productions International's NoMAD team based at Jubileo, sends the sermons to be shown a week or two after being preached at Jubileo. This allows Fortaleza to continue with the same cell group studies that Jubileo uses. Jubileo also sends teachers for the children's classes every week and a preacher monthly (rather than a video sermon).
Also pray for the Jubileo leadership as they search for a pastor to serve at this church. IMPACTO Latino is providing the funds that will be used for the pastor's salary.
The team has already done Sunday School teacher training at a church in Querétaro and soon will be holding a seminar for pastors on legal and financial requirements for churches.
We will also be participating in events in Mexico and the United States this summer. Please continue to pray for our team and the connections we are making laying the groundwork for church planting.
On June 28th, Ben and Kaitlin Faust will join the IMPACTO Latino team as summer interns. They are students at Johnson University interested in learning more about church planting in Mexico.
They will spend a few weeks in Querétaro studying Spanish and helping at the IMPACTOnetwork office. They will also spend a few weeks in Pachuca serving with Iglesia Cristiana El Jubileo's VBS and the other churches started by the Pachuca Project.
Please pray for them as they prepare, arrive, and spend their summer serving in Mexico.
