7/23/2019 Summer in the CityIglesia Cristiana La Viña was blessed by one of its supporting churches at the end of June. Community Christian Church from Baltimore, MD which is a direct partner of La Viña, sent a team of 24 from their high school ministry for a week to serve the church. The group constructed walls to divide the children's Sunday school area, painted beautiful murals in the nursery area, prepared crafts for the 2019 Advent campaign as well as many other tasks. Each of La Viña's Life Groups had an opportunity to spend time with the CCC group providing dinner during the week. The students spent an afternoon with La Viña's students worshipping, studying and playing together. A group of La Viña's students worked alongside the CCC group painting during the week! It was exciting to see the connections that were made between the Mexican youth and U.S. group. IMPACTO Latino and La Viña thank Community Christian Church for their partnership and Kingdom investment! The El Mirador church plant project continues to work on pre-launch preparations. The team has chosen a name for the church plant and the Klein family recently moved to a house in the El Mirador neighborhood. They are getting settled and meeting their neighbors. Please pray for them as they start to make connections and get to know the area that the church will be planted in. Church planter Andrés García, along with Misael Sánchez traveled to northern Mexico for a few weeks in June visiting churches and individuals. They shared the El Mirador church plant project and were encouraged by an enthusiastic response. They have had 3 churches join their support team along with a handful of individuals. We rejoice with them and are encouraged seeing the response from Mexican churches and individuals investing in this church planting project. There's a place for you too on this team! If you would like to be a part of reaching the 25,000 families in the El Mirador neighborhood, please contact Eric Duggins (eduggins@newinternational.org) or Joseph Klein (jklein@newinternational.org). IMPACTO Latino's team met this past week for a planning and evaluation retreat in Tequisquiapan, Querétaro. We covered different topics pertinent to the team, the IMPACTOnetwork church planting project as well as the churches planted and in planning phases. Please pray with us as we continue to serve and work towards reaching Querétaro and Mexico's cities with the good news of the Gospel.
Our team also thanked summer intern Caleb Yount for the two months of service in Querétaro. Caleb helped with many different of projects for IMPACTOnetwork and Iglesia Cristiana La Viña. He returned to the US this past Monday. Please pray for him as he transitions back to life and studies in the States. Comments are closed.
