4/12/2017 Celebrating the ResurrectionWe pray that each day you are filled with the wonder of the RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD JESUS and the joy of forgiveness! This has been a busy year with unexpected travel to the US because of Dee's mom's health, elders retreat in Jubilee, a bit of preaching, and packing up the English center and getting it moved to the office in Queretaro. Two weeks ago we were able to visit the Door to Heaven Church where David Garcia is Pastor. He is a man we discipled back when we were at Nueva Esperanza (New Hope), and was a small group leader there under Alejo. It was a joy to see their heart for evangelism and enthusiasm to reach out to their community. The Last week of March we had the privilege to attend the missionary reunion, and see many friends who work in other parts of Mexico. We had lots of good fellowship, exercise and fresh air. We continue to pray for more workers for this vast harvest. Wow, we have lived in our house now 12 years and our last move was just across town. But everything for our move to Queretaro is finalized as we have found a house to rent that will be available in May. With all of our planed travels, board meeting and Exponential Conference in Florida and our MNSI visits in Canada and Buffalo we needed to get things moving. We are still hoping our house will sale so keep that on your prayer list also. Now it's time to get down to business as we finish packing the house here. Looks like you'll have a place to stay when you come visitas in Queretaro. The house there has 4 bedrooms. The large homes have a bedroom on the first floor and that seemed like a good idea. So we can help with visitors, and groups. Dee celebrated her birthday Tuesday, April 11. She got a special gift. Many of you will remember GODZILLA, our Chihuahua that we had for close to 14 years. Well, we have a new one, PEANUT. I know, its a bit crazy in a middle of a move! Coming Events: April 24-30 / Eric Duggins and Sergio Alvarado will be participating at the Exponential conference in Orlando and will also be visiting with a Church in Fort Myers. May 8 / Day of the Duggins Family move to Queretaro. May 30 -June 8 / Field Visits to Buffalo and to Toronto with NMSI Americas affiliates. July 9 / The Good-by Celebration for the Duggins and Rodriguez Families at the Jubilee Church Prayer Requests: - For Gary Kreigh, member of the Board of Advisors of IMPACTO Latino. Gary had major surgery to remove tumor from his bladder and will have to deal with some small areas in the lungs. He is a man of faith and has done remarkably well during chemo and the operation. Be praying for his quick recovery. - Dee's mom, Pat Rumler, continues in rehab. Be praying for wisdom as the Family deals with the next phase and where she will live. -Funding for Church No. 1 of the IMPACTOnetwork may be complete!. A partnering congregation in Baltimore is considering to partner with the IMPACTOnetwork which with two other congregations who have made that commitment finishes the commitments needed for the Church Plant in Queretaro. Be praying for this last decision for Church No. 1 and for Church No. 2. which has several congregations in process of making decisions. -Be praying for our move on May 8. -Anderew Duggins continues to work in Dallas and is still applying at churches when the opportunities are available. 12/22/2016 Merry Christmas!Christmas is a special time for kids! Wrapping presents, making special gifts and the anticipation of giving and recieving gifts seems to always excit and bring a magic to family time. We have been with our grandkids for the last week as Christmas preparations are in full swing. Its been a blessing and a joy! We pray that your Christmas and New Year celebrations are also joyous and truely blessed by the presence of Emmanuel! Prayer Request: We will begin our return to Mexico on December 27 driving from Lexington, KY to Dallas. There we will visit for an evening with Andrew (who is now working in the Dallas area). We are expecting to cross the boarder into Mexico on December 30. We would ask for your prayers for safety for our trip back to Pachuca. We hope to be back at our home on December 30 or 31. Thanks for praying! ¡Mucho amor y bendiciones! Eric & Dee We are excited to share with you what God has been able to accomplish through IMPACTO Latino´s team, our board of advisors, and you as one of our prayer warriors and financial partners. We all are part of the team to reach the people of Mexico for Christ. Today, through the efforts of the Pachuca Project, more than 1,200 people have been reached for Christ. The Pachuca Project started a movement of churches that are now planting other churches. That is the case of New Hope, the first church planted in the city which is the mother church of the other 4 churches. Also, at the beginning of 2016, the Jubilee church just planted a new church called “The Fortress”. In total there are 5 churches in the city and one in a rural community where Spanish is actually their second language. Today, on any giving Sunday there are more than 1,200 people worshipping Jesus, but that´s not all, through the cell group system, believers are reaching their families, friends, and neighbors and discipling them personally. We want to take this time to share with you and celebrate what God has done through your prayers and support and the efforts of the whole team.
Introducing the IMPACTOnetwork After seeing what God was already doing in Pachuca we started to pray, and seek for direction as to what our next endeavor was going to be. So, after several months of prayer and talking with the rest of the team, we felt that God was leading us to start a church planting training center in Mexico. We will start by recruiting church planters, train them, fund their churches for the first crucial years, coach them and create a network of churches that are willing to work together. We want to plant churches that are passionate to reach the lost and committed to plant new churches to reach the people of Mexico for Christ. It is a big vision, and we are very excited, but we realize this project will require a lot of prayer, a lot of work and financial support. So we are seeking and looking for partnerships that will help us accomplish the vision to plant two churches per year starting in 2018. Our ultimate goal is to see Mexico not be a mission field anymore, but instead send Mexican missionaries to the world. We need financial support as we run the training center and to fund the churches that will be planted every year. We want to invite you to prayerfully consider to start supporting the IMPACTOnetwork or increase your support to one of our families. You can start by committing a monthly amount or increasing what you already give. To make it convenient for you you can go online here to our personal GIVING page at NMSI, and set up a monthly recurring giving amount: Every little bit helps And every little bit will have an IMPACT in reaching the people of Mexico for Christ. If you would like to learn more about the STRATEGY of the IMPACTOnetwork you can read more here: http://www.impactolatino.org/strategy.html We want to thank you again for your generosity and being part of the team of reaching the people of Mexico for Christ. We pray that God will multiply the investment and your hard work a hundred times and that it will bear much fruit. Blessings, The IMPACTO Team 11/7/2016 eUpdate for Oct. & Nov. 2016VISITS AT CHRISTIAN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES We are coming to the last few days of our recruiting trip to the Christian Universities . We are talking with students that are studying Inter-cultural studies with the prayer that some will be interested to be missionaries in Mexico to partner with Mexican pastors to plant churches. This month we have been to Great Lakes Christian College, St Louis Christian College, Lincoln Christian University and Seminary, Johnson University and Milligan College and Emmanuel Seminary, and Manhattan Christian College. We finish up at Dallas Christian College on November 9. These trips have given us insight on how the IMPACTOnetwork can better partner with schools to increase awareness of the need in Mexico for church planters. We are also seeking well prepared young people with a heart for sharing Christ in Latin America. Already we have compiled a list of some candidates, and we still have at least five more schools to visit over the next year. We were especially encouraged by Johnson's and Ozark's openness to see how they could provide internships and possibly do some on site missionary training in Mexico in the future. After Thanks-giving we will be in Maryland to report to three of our supporting congregations. JUBILEE CHURCH MEETS FUND-RAISING GOAL! Jubilee Christian church has finished her campaign to raise 70,000 pesos to erect a wall and gate at the entrance to the church property. For the first time they have surpassed their goal. They are beginning construction. construction.pesos to erect the entrance wall and gate to help the church with security. The church has been very faithful as they still have two weeks and 6000 has come in already. This is a big accomplishment for the Mexican church. Presently they are studying the sermon series "I'm a member". A series on why the church is important and our responsibilities and the benefits of being part of a church body. OTHER CHURCHES IN PACHUCA AREA: They were encouraged by a visit from David Garcia, the night we left Pachuca, to hear about his church, The Door to Heaven, that it is moving forward and has doubled in size this year. They even have 6 small groups meeting. The Ticyuca church, Fortaleza, is ministering to families in their community. They are a church plant of Jubilee of about 25 in a town about 45 minutes away. Jubilee sends a team each week to teach their children and youth in Sunday School. Andrew Duggins has been a big help in this ministry and even had opportunities to preach CAN YOU HELP? Over the next three years IMPACTOLatino is looking for global partners to facilitate the establishment of the IMPACTO Network. This network will focus on identifying key individuals to form teams to plant stratigicly located churches in urban centers in central Mexico. Each of these community based churches will emphasis discipleship and leadership training. Do you know a church or individual that could be a strategic partner (interested in praying, sending, and or funding). Please contact us! 9/27/2016 Duggins Family UpdateWHAT’S HAPPENING IN PACHUCA? This month has flown by as Dee continues to pack up the house little by little, since our move isn’t till June of next year. Eric has been busy with several projects. He has been preparing a Seminary level class on Saturdays on the Pauline letters and is preaching about once a month. Also, there has been several counselling visits that Pastor Luis has asked him to accompany him on. It’s been a hard month for Jubilee. Summer vacation is always hard on church attendance but this year we also had families that moved out of town, and two families suffered deaths in the family, so it’s been especially hard. We especially want to thank so many that prayed for Oscar and his family. We ask that you keep Beti and her four daughters in your prayers. Oscar’s death hit the church family on several levels. You hear about this type of thing happening in Mexico but it is usually not that close and this one was Jubilee’s family. We are greatly encouraged at the leadership of Jubilee as they have stepped up to the challenges of this summer and have some inspiring plans for the church this fall. An in depth study on the 7 churches in Revelations and then a study following the book, I Am A Member of The Church. They are also having an ” Turning it All Over” retreat this week end for new church members and new Christians. I AM A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH / Discovering the Attitude that Make a Difference by Tom Rainer
The friendliness of the people, and the celebration in worship reminded us of Mexico. Cities are not an easy place to work, as people are always busy and costs rise daily. We also heard how the long term ministry for the skate boarders out in the parks has shown fruit by partnering with work groups in the summer, they have been able to bring some of the kids to Christ.
We also had the privilege to visit over coffee with Doug and Shelly Kallestad. Doug and Shelly are long-term missionaries in Chile and have worked with a group planting churches in Santiago and other cities in Chile. This group of Chilean churches are also sending missionaries to Peru, Ecuador and North Africa. It was exciting to hear about a church planting movement that is taking the Mission of the church worldwide very serious. We lift up all the churches in Chile in prayer that they may have an impact for Christ in a real and lasting way! DEVELOPING CONTACTS We will be traveling again this fall in the United States as we prepare for the new church planting project through the IMPACTOnetwork. On this trip we are concentrating on visiting 8 of our Christian Universities and we will usually be spending two days with each. It’s been a challenge to get the visits coordinated, but it looks like most of the dates are working. We still have two of the Universities to confirm with but hopefully will finish that process in the next week. We will be leaving Mexico on September 26 and will return to Mexico just after Christmas. Calendar in the United States: Christian Universities we will be visiting: -Great Lakes Christian College (October 3 & 4) -Lincoln Christian College & Seminary (October 10 & 11) -St. Louis Christian College (October 13 & 14) (to be confirmed) -Johnson University (October 17-19) -Milligan College / Emmanuel Christian Seminary (October 20-24) -Ozark Christian College (October 27 & 28) (to be confirmed) -Manhattan Christian College (November 7 & 8) -Dallas Christian College (November 10 & 11) We will also be at the iCOM (Missionary Convention) in Lexington from the November 16 to 21. The IMPACTO Latino Board of Advisors are planning to meet in conjunction with the convention time and will meet at the Tates Creek Christian Church. Though the meeting date was set last May, the board is considering a change of date to accommodate the teaching schedule of new family that has affiliated with IMPACTO Latino – NMSI. The date will most likely be November 21. If you are at iCOM, come by the booth of NMSI and IMPACTO Latino! We will spend Thanks-giving with family in Indiana and then we will be visiting three partnering congregations in Maryland. We will be at the Week of Missions at Mountain Christian Church from November 26 to December 3. We will then be with the Community Christian Church on the north-side of Baltimore December 4-8 and finally with the Grandview Christian Church in Fallston, Maryland from December 7 to 12. We will begin our trip back to Mexico on December 27. Coming Events: 14 September / Independence Day part at the Church for the Cell Groups. 17-22 September / A visitation group from the McDonough Christian Church. 24 September/ Last class Eric will be teaching this year at the Bible Seminary of the Aros. 25 September/ Eric will be preaching at Jubilee (going to be a busy week!) 26 September / Leave for the United States.
